End of the Year Timeline Banner

Happy Monday!

Are you ready for the BIG SALE starting on TpT tomorrow?  I get all nervous and excited at the same time. Do I have everything I need in my cart?  Wasn't there something else I wanted? Oh no! The clock says I only have 56 hours left!

It's a bit ridiculous.  I just really like to be stocked for the end of the year.  Up here where I live, we still have 6 weeks left...30 days...too many hours and minutes!

One thing I am looking forward to is my End of the Year Banner {plus printables!}. I know it's going to be one of those activities my students LOVE, but I feel comfortable with because I'm still hitting the standards at the same time!

This product is designed to be used at least two ways.

There are larger bunting flags that can be used to make a classroom timeline.  I plan on pairing my students up and assigning them each a month. Then we'll display it on our hallway bulletin board.

There are flags with lines, if you want to have your students write in more detail about the timeline event.

There are also smaller bunting flags that your students can use to create their own timeline to take home.  What a wonderful keepsake from their school-year!

There are also R/LA and Math Summer Themed printables which will come in super handy those last few days of school!

This banner is great for grades K-6, but the printables are best suited for grades 1-3.

Here's a look at the WHOLE unit:

Grab your own Timeline Banner by clicking the picture below:

Or....You can win this unit on my FB page, but hurry, the giveaway ends at 9pm EST!

And don't forget about the Teacher Appreciation Sale tomorrow! Happy Shopping!! Go stock those carts!!

The Countdown is On: A FREEBIE and an Announcement!

Hi there! Remember me?

My name is Halle.  I teach 2nd Grade.

AndIamsobusywhenwillsummerbeheresoIcanfinallycatchabreath?

Seriously. I have been so absent.

It’s mostly because we are house hunting. Still. Still!

We found a house.  It was the perfect house for us. The papers were printed. All we had to do was go to work, then come to sign the papers.  I made sure to bring home my favorite work pen.

Then we got outbid. And we couldn't bid any higher.

I’m not exaggerating when I say it was tragic.  That was almost 3 weeks ago and I still get sick if I really think about it. I know, I know everything happens for a reason, but the little house that almost was seemed like it was built just for us.  Well, it was built before we were born, but that doesn’t count. It was still built with us in mind.

Then a few days ago we thought we found a pretty decent runner-upper.  Until we found out this morning that it’s under contract.

This is hard people! What happened to the buyer’s market?!!!!

We come home from work {which, as you know, is exhausting the last few weeks} and then we either go out looking at houses with our realtor, or I waste hours upon hours on Trulia and Zillow, then Trulia, then Zillow, then Trulia…

I am so ready to find a house, and I hope it happens SOON, and that is the end of that story…

Now, on to other important news.

We have 15 days left.  Yes 15. Our last day is on a Monday. I know, right?!?!?
Luckily, this week should go by pretty quickly.  We’re off today, and we have our field trip tomorrow {I know, poor planning on our part}.

Last year, I was inspired by The Teacher Wife to do a balloon countdown the last week or so of school.  We had such fun with it, that I am so excited to do it again this year, only bigger and better!

Most of these are pretty self-explanatory, but let me elaborate on a few, will you?

For Lemonade Day, we’ll be doing activities from my friend Aimee’s packet.

I am so excited to do the activities from this packet with my kiddos.  Read all about the activities included in this unit here.

For Bubble Day, we’ll be using a few activities from Abby’s packet:

This looks so stinkin’ adorable.  I might be more excited than my second graders will be.

For Silly Seating Day the kids will be able to put their desks wherever they want in the room! I’m sure that will be very interesting and not at all a fire hazard. {I kid, I wouldn’t let that happen!}

For RACK Day, we’ll be committing some “random acts of classroom kindness” which we did a lot of around Christmas.  I plan on doing some baking and letting the kids write notes to various staff members and deliver our goodies. You know smiles and fuzzy feelings all around!

I think you can figure out the rest.  If you’re still in school like I am, I strongly suggest some sort of countdown.  If not for the kids, for your own sanity.  As much as I love my kiddos, these last few weeks can DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG.

And now to my announcement:

I am going to be hosting a weekly summer linky party!!! {I hope you weren’t expecting something more exciting…because I think this is pretty exciting!}

Linky Graphic 1

I really, really…really, really… hope you’ll join up from week to week to share your favorite things!  There’s really no rules, just let us know your favorite things in each category so we can all find new favorite things. Yay!!!

I created a schedule of sorts for those of you who like to plan ahead:

Favorite Things Linky Schedule

It starts NEXT Thursday! I hope to see you there!

Enjoy your Memorial Day and remember to take time to thank those who defend our country and remember those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom. God Bless America!

Where, Oh Where, Have We Been?

Hello?

Remember us?

We might not be surprised if you didn't.  It's not a new blog that showed up in your blog roll, it's just us, after a much needed vacation!

So, where have we been?  We've said it before, but this year has been very overwhelming for both of us.  Along with new administration came lots of change {not all of it bad, at all...but still.. change!!!! lots of it}.  The change took the wind out of our sails, and the little energy we had went to our students, our classrooms, and all of that end of the year goodness.

Jenna was maid-of-honor to her best friend the very weekend we got out of school, before that she was planning and executing a shower and a bachelorette party {both a distance from her home}, as well as working a 2nd job.  She's been a busy, busy, bee, and her summer shows no signs of slowing down.

Me? Well, I'm just planning a wedding...no big deal.  The first week in June, I was incredibly spoiled by my fabulous coworkers, with an adorable after-school shower, spoiled by my little munchkins {and Dave} for my birthday, and then the frosting on the cake: my bridal shower was thrown for me by my wonderfully creative mom and generous and lovely bridesmaids.

Whew.  That paragraph used a lot of adjectives.

But it was all so wonderful.  I loved every single second of all that good stuff, just for me!  It only happens once, right?  I vowed a long time ago to take it all in, and appreciate it, and I really, really, really did {and still do!}

Here are a few pictures of my {perfect} shower.

See what I mean?  Shabby-chic, girly, pink, vintage-y, garden-y, romantic, perfection.

I realize that this is not teacher-related in the least.  But, this is what I've been doing, and wedding planning has definitely been the focus of my attention lately. We are at just over a month.

I will be back soon with school stuff as well.  Our new administration is allowing us in over the summer to work on our classrooms {see, not all change is bad}.  And since I'm in a new room, {again!}, I am thankful for that, and yes, anxious to get started!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
