Favorite Things Linky: Feels Like Home

Favorite Graphic

This week’s Favorite Things is right up my alley because we’re moving to a new house in August and let’s just say it’s a little bit outdated.  That’s okay though! I get to start over fresh!!!!

The rules are simple…share anything you love regarding home(s).  This might mean design inspiration, kitchen gadgets, places to shop, or what home means to you…I’m not picky, I just can’t wait for you to share!

Here are some of my faves:

Love this combo..white house, gray/blue shutters, tangerine door! cm from theinspiredroom.net

Front Porches. I have always looooved front porches.  Coffee tastes better on them and hammocks are a little less awkward to get in and out of on a front porch.  Our new house has a screened in back porch which is a compromise for me…but I’ll take what I can get!

Reclaimed barn wood flooring. . .LOVE!
{This picture is from a  “dead-end” pin}

Reclaimed Wood Flooring. I have this secret hope that we’ll be lucky enough to stumble upon some of this stuff down the road.  It’s beautiful and I love the idea of having a story that goes along with my home.  Plus, it’s green!

Amazing.

Beamed Ceilings.  Love the rustic element they add to a room. And I think they look especially beautiful with white walls, so it saves you from painting, right?

Open Shelving. We have beautiful everyday china that we received as a wedding gift. {None of that fancy stuff for me}.  Anyways, I think it would beautiful on open shelving.

Fireplaces & Fireplace Mantles.  Decorating my fireplace mantle is one of my favorite things to do.  Our new house doesn’t have a fireplace…GASP! But I just hunted a faux one down on Craigslist and I’m going to put candles or lanterns inside like this picture shows. And decorate the mantle of course.

My Anthropologie Coffee Mug: I am obsessed with these. I buy them for gifts for just about everyone I know!  I just think they’re so pretty. And I love the lowercase letters…a little funkier :)

Throws. I have to have a blanket on me pretty much at all times.  This one is adorable, but just a little over my price range ;)

And there you have it…I really could go on and on, and on and on…but I’ll stop here for today.

Make sure you link up with your favorites too!

  1. My dream house has a wrap around porch. I think it would be so relaxing to sit on one every morning or evening.

  5. Great list. Your inclusion of exposed beams and fireplace/mantles were at the top of ours when we got our place last year. We actually just got a barn beam from a 100 year old barn and are planning on making it our new mantle.
    Great Linky

  8. What a fun visit. Your new house sounds like a great new adventure! One of the things I love about the houses in our family is the huge rooms of an old historic home some of my loved ones have. It's time for them to start a new adventure as well, so it's now for sale. But that huge house has been a big blessing to so many for many years now.

  9. I love a nice wide and long porch. Decks are nice but even screened in they are just not the same! Thanks for sharing.
